Whole-Home Repiping

We repipe houses without wrecking them — planned openings, priced up front.

Licensed Chicagoland plumbers who walk the whole system, show you what the pipe is doing, and quote the repipe to the fixture before a wall is touched. If you don’t need it all, we’ll tell you which part you do.

Pro Services installed a 6 inch clean out and placed a lateral liner in our sewer line. What can I say, they did and excellent and professional job from start to finish. They're a great company.

After what started off as a horrible day we had plumbing issues on top of it. Cody came in and fixed it without hesitation and had the best attitude. I know it’s something small but he was a breath of fresh air. Thank you

Low pressure, rusty water & pinhole leaks

Your pipes are telling you something.
We'll translate.

Brown water after vacation, pressure that fades when two fixtures run, a pinhole patched every spring — those aren’t separate problems. They’re one pipe system aging out.

Walkthroughs are free

“My water pressure gets worse every year.”

Galvanized pipe rusts from the inside, closing like an artery — a half-inch line ends up passing a pencil’s width of water. No pump or new fixture fixes that. We’ll show you a cut section of what your pipe looks like inside, and you’ll know exactly why the shower is weak.

Before we start

“That’s the third pinhole leak this year.”

Pinholes in copper cluster — water chemistry and time thin the whole run, and each patch buys months while the next thin spot works on itself. Three leaks in a year is the system talking. Repiping the affected runs often costs less than the next ceiling repair.

“My insurer sent a letter about the old plumbing.”

Common with galvanized and polybutylene — carriers know the failure statistics. We document the material, replace what they’re worried about, and hand you the paperwork that keeps the policy. Often the requirement is narrower than the letter sounds; we’ll read it with you.

How it works

A repipe is a plan,
not a demolition.

Openings are mapped before the first cut, the schedule is in writing, and you know which rooms are touched on which day.

  1. An expert picks up.

Tell us the symptoms and the house's age. We can usually name the pipe material from the year it was built — and tell you whether this sounds like a full repipe or a section.

  2. We walk the whole system, free.

Every run we can see, water tested at the fixtures, pressure measured. You get told what the pipe is, what shape it's in, and what can stay.

  3. You get a fixture-by-fixture plan in writing.

What gets replaced, where the walls open, how many days it takes, and one price that includes patching the openings. Nothing gets discovered mid-job that changes the number.

  4. Water stays on every night.

We repipe in stages so the house works each evening, pressure-test the new system, and patch the walls we opened.

Not sure you need the whole house?

Often you don’t. Call and describe the symptoms — we’ll tell you if a section repipe solves it.

A little about
our customer service.

Whether it’s a pinhole spraying the ceiling at midnight or pressure you’ve tolerated for a decade, you get the same straight answer and the same upfront price.

DIAGNOSIS

We show you the inside of your pipe

Cut sections, pressure readings, water clarity tests — the case for a repipe should be visible, not taken on faith.

STRAIGHT TALK

Sometimes half a repipe is the answer

If the horizontal runs are shot but the risers are fine, we say so. Replacing pipe that had years left in it isn’t thoroughness — it’s your money.

Straight answers

The questions
you might be asking

What does repiping actually cost?

Depends on the house size, the fixture count, and how the existing runs are routed — which is why we walk it before quoting. The honest ranges:

Whole-home walkthrough & assessment (free)

$XXX – $XXX

Section repipe, one run or one floor

$XXX – $XXX

Whole-home repipe, single story

$XXX – $XXX

Whole-home repipe, two story

Age and material first: galvanized steel (common before the 1960s) and polybutylene (late ’70s through the ’90s) are past their design life on the calendar alone. Then symptoms: rusty morning water, pressure that drops when a second fixture opens, repeated pinholes, or water that never quite runs clear. Any two of those together, and the walkthrough is worth an hour of your time — it’s free either way.

Both are right answers in different houses, and we install both. PEX costs less, snakes through walls with fewer openings, and handles Chicago freezes better. Copper is time-proven and some owners simply want metal in the walls. We’ll price your house both ways and tell you what we’d put in our own — for concealed runs, that’s usually PEX.

Most single-family repipes run two to four working days. The rhythm: open, run new pipe, connect a section, restore water for the evening, repeat. Patching adds a day or two at the tail of the job. The schedule is written into the quote — you’ll know your week before we start.

No — pipe follows predictable paths, and PEX needs fewer openings than the original runs did. We map the openings in the quote: access points at fixtures, a run along the basement ceiling, and selective cuts where risers climb. You see the list before we cut, and every opening is patched after.

Yes — almost everyone does. Water runs every evening, bathrooms go out of service one at a time rather than all at once, and we confirm each morning which rooms we’re working in. The dusty phase is short and contained with plastic and floor protection. If you work from home, tell us — we’ll plan the loud parts around your calls.

If the pressure loss comes from corroded pipe narrowing the lines — which in old galvanized homes it nearly always does — yes, dramatically. It’s often the first thing owners mention afterward. If the problem is the city supply or a failing pressure regulator, repiping won’t fix it, and the walkthrough’s pressure readings will catch that before you spend repipe money.

Still not sure your pipes are done?

Tell us the house’s age and what the water is doing. We’ll tell you what the pipes probably are and whether a walkthrough is worth it — before anyone gets in a truck.

A repipe doesn’t have to be paid at once.
