Burst pipes, soaked yards & runaway meters

Water where it shouldn't be?
Call first, mop later.

A water line failure doesn’t wait for business hours. The meter spins, the yard softens, and every hour adds damage — so the fix starts with stopping the flow.

Crews on call 24/7

“There’s water bubbling up in my front yard.”

That’s the classic sign of a service line leak between the street and the house. Don’t dig. We locate the leak from the surface, confirm it’s yours and not the city’s, and tell you what the repair takes — before anything is opened.

Shutoff help

Quote

Before we start

“My water bill doubled and I can’t find a leak.”

If the meter moves with everything off, water is leaving the line somewhere between the meter and your fixtures. Underground leaks hide for months. We pressure-test, isolate which section is losing water, and show you the numbers.

“The pipe burst and I don’t know where the shutoff is.”

Call us right now and we’ll find it together — main valve, meter pit, or curb stop. Then we head your way. Minutes matter with an open line, and you don’t need to know plumbing to close a valve. We’ll stay on the phone.

How it works

Fast doesn't have to mean
sloppy or overpriced.

Even at 2 a.m., the order holds: stop the water, find the failure, quote it in writing, then fix it.

  1. An expert picks up — day or night.

First job: stop the water. We'll walk you through the shutoff while the truck is on its way, and tell you what to move away from the wet area.

  2. We find exactly where it failed.

Leak location from the surface, pressure readings, and a check of whether this is a repairable break or a line at the end of its life.

  3. You get the options in writing.

Spot repair or full line replacement, each with a price and a timeline for water back on. No decisions in a panic — the numbers are in front of you first.

  4. Water on, pressure checked, ground restored.

We test the repair under full pressure before we backfill, and you keep the paperwork for insurance.

Not sure it’s an emergency?

Call anyway. We’ll tell you if it can wait until morning — and if it can, that’s a cheaper visit.

Our Standard

A little about
our customer service.

A burst line at midnight and a slow leak you found on a Tuesday get the same straight answer and the same upfront price.

DIAGNOSIS

We locate before we excavate

Leak location from the surface means we open one spot — not a trench across your yard hunting for the break.

Leak location included with repair

STRAIGHT TALK

Not every leak is a 2 a.m. job

If the shutoff is holding and the house is dry, some repairs can wait for daylight. We’ll tell you which kind you have — before we dispatch.

PRICING

The number doesn’t move

Quoted in writing before we start, and it holds once the ground is open.

YOUR YARD

One hole, not a trench

The leak is marked from the surface first, so the dig is a small opening at the failure — and we put back what we moved.

Concrete and restoration quoted up front

PAPERWORK

Documentation for your insurer

Cause of failure, photos, and the repair scope in writing — what adjusters ask for after water damage.

The questions
you might be asking

How do I shut off the water right now?

Look for the main valve where the water line enters the house — usually on the basement wall facing the street, near the meter. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If it’s stuck or broken, the curb stop at the property line can be closed with a meter key. Can’t find either? Call us and we’ll walk you through it while the truck is on its way.

In most Chicagoland towns, the utility owns the line up to the buffalo box at the curb, and you own everything from there to the house. Water pooling between the curb and your foundation is usually yours; water in the parkway or street may be theirs. We can tell you which side of the line the leak is on — and if it’s the city’s, we’ll say so, and you make one free phone call instead of paying us.

We run 24/7 with local crews in DuPage and Kane County, and a burst line jumps the queue. Exact timing depends on the night — but the walkthrough to shut off your water starts the moment you call, and that’s what stops the damage while the truck is moving.

No. Surface leak location is the whole point — we mark where the line is losing water before a shovel comes off the truck, and we open that spot. If the break sits under a driveway or sidewalk, we quote the concrete work up front rather than surprising you halfway through.

A clean break in otherwise healthy pipe gets a spot repair. A line that’s failed twice, is corroded through, or is undersized old galvanized is spending your money one leak at a time — replacement usually wins that math. We’ll show you the failed section and give you both numbers; the call is yours.

Often, partially. Most policies cover the water damage inside the house but not the buried pipe itself; some cover service line failure as a rider you may already have. We’re plumbers, not adjusters, so call your carrier — and we’ll hand you the cause-of-failure documentation and photos they ask for.

Water’s off and you’re catching your breath?

Good — that’s the hard part done. Call and describe what happened. We’ll tell you what it likely is and what fixing it involves — before anyone gets in a truck.

An emergency repair doesn’t have to be paid at once.
