Cody is the best plumber around, highly recommend. Very trustworthy!!
A drum auger from the hardware store handles a lot. But the wrong cable in the wrong line scratches pipe, kinks in traps, or turns around and comes back — while the clog stays put.
“I rented a snake and it didn’t fix it.”
No shame in it — rental cables are light, and clogs that survive them are usually further down or packed harder than the tool can handle. We bring machines with cutting heads matched to your pipe, and we know how far the problem sits before we start.

Before we start
“Something’s stuck — like, physically stuck.”
Toys, wipes, a dropped ring, roots pretending to be a clog. A retrieval or cutter head clears most of it, and if the object needs the trap pulled instead, we’ll do that rather than push it deeper.
“I just want it cleared today without a big upsell.”
Then that’s what happens. We clear the line, show you what came out, and leave. If we see signs this will return — grease, scale, roots — we’ll say so once, in writing, and you decide.
How it works
A cable clears the blockage in front of it. When the real problem is the pipe itself, we tell you instead of selling you the same visit twice.
Tell us which drain and what it's doing. We'll tell you whether snaking will handle it and what it involves — before we roll a truck.
Hand auger for traps, sectional machine for branch lines, bigger cable and cutters for the main. The wrong tool damages pipe; ours match it.
One number for clearing the line, in writing, before the machine turns on. It doesn't change if the clog fights back.
Full flow at the fixture before we pack up — and you hear what we pulled out and whether it's likely to return.
Call and describe the clog. We’ll give you our best read and the price over the phone.
Our Standard
Whether it’s a toilet auger job at midnight or a stubborn tub you’ve fought all week, you get the same straight answer and the same upfront price.
We match the tool to the clog
Line size, distance to the blockage, and what it’s likely made of decide the cable and the head. That’s the difference between cleared and scratched up.
Straight assessment by phone first
Sometimes you don’t need us
A clog at the stopper or in the trap is a five-minute DIY. When that’s what yours sounds like, we’ll talk you through it on the phone instead of charging you a visit.
Free advice, no visit needed
The number doesn’t move
Quoted in writing before the machine turns on — and it holds even if the clog fights back.

Machines wipe their feet too
Drop cloths under the machine, mess contained, floors protected. Snaking can be dirty work; your house shouldn’t know it happened.
Cleanup included
You see what came out
What blocked it, how far down it sat, and whether it points at a bigger problem — told straight, in writing.

Straight answers
Depends on the line, the distance to the clog, and the access — which is why we quote before the machine comes off the truck. The honest ranges:
Tub, sink, or toilet auger
$XXX – $XXX
Branch line snaking
$XXX – $XXX
Main line snaking, via cleanout
$XXX – $XXX
Main line snaking, no cleanout access
$XXX – $XXX
Usually reach or power. Rental drums carry light cable that bogs down past 25 feet or so, and the heads that come with them are made to survive renters, not clogs. If the blockage sits in the main line, or it’s packed grease or roots, the cable pushes into it and stops. The clog wins on equipment.
The wrong one can — thin cable whipping inside a big pipe scratches it, and too much force cracks old traps and fittings. That’s an equipment-and-technique problem, not a snaking problem. Matched cable, right head, steady feed: the pipe is fine. It’s also why we don’t run cutters blind through pipe we suspect is broken — that’s what cameras are for.
A snake opens a hole through the clog; a jet washes the pipe walls clean. If this is your first clog in years, snake it and move on. If the same line clogs on a schedule, jetting resets it. We carry both, and jetting costs more — so we don’t suggest it unless it earns its price.
Our main-line machines run a hundred feet or more of cable — enough to reach from the cleanout to the city connection in most Chicagoland homes. Distance is rarely the limit; access is. No cleanout? We work through a pulled toilet or a roof vent, and we’ll tell you if adding a cleanout would make every future clog cheaper.
Often, yes — if you stop running water. A retrieval head can hook soft items, and anything heavy (rings, small toys) usually settles in the trap right below the drain, which we can open and empty. What pushes things out of reach is more flushing and more plunging — resist both and call.
Then the snake did its job, and the pipe is telling you something else. Clogs that return fast usually mean grease or scale narrowing the line, roots reaching in at a joint, or a sag holding water. A camera down the line settles it, and you only fix what the footage shows.
Describe the clog and what you’ve tried. We’ll tell you if snaking will handle it — before anyone gets in a truck.
